Adobe Acrobat is an application program optimized for creating, distributing, and viewing Portable Document Format (PDF) files. The advantage of Adobe Acrobat is that you can create a richly formatted document with a particular program, and distribute it in a format that anyone with the Adobe Acrobat Reader application can view and print.

In order to view Acrobat files, you must download, install and run the Adobe Acrobat Reader application, which is available free at Adobe's Web site, www.adobe.com. When installed, the Adobe Acrobat Reader allows you to view Acrobat PDF documents over the Web in Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. You can also view Acrobat documents that you have saved to your computer's hard drive. You can navigate in multipage documents, zoom the view in and out, and print Acrobat documents.
